The portrayal of black people and cultures as divine and ethereal, combined with the embellishment techniques of the Rococo era was a means used in the communication of this collection.

Major elements of inspiration seen are cupid, pre-13th century portrayals of Madonnas, neo-rococo paintings by Nataly Kukula Abramovitch, shades of gold, and heavy ornamentation.
